Three little backgrounds...



These are all cotton muslin backgrounds, treated with gesso, and then painted with acrylic paints. This top one will be about...?  Something to do with a sunset, perhaps. ;)

This next one...



Something to do with lightly falling snow...


And this one? ... I forget. 

Kidding. ;)

I actually have ideas for six or seven small pieces that begin with a grey or grey-ed out background. They'll be quite lively when done, I promise!

    Lovely backgrounds. Do you have pieces in mind when you paint your backgrounds or do the backgrounds tell you what they want?

    Muslin! I thought it was cold pressed watercolour paper. What gives it the diagonal texture? The gesso? Looks interesting!
