Apparently, tomorrow is a very elastic term with me. lol
But, back to what I was talking about last week... So, the water turned out fine once it was dry, it wasn't exactly what I was hoping for, but watercolour kind of makes up its own mind about what it wants to do (and that's even more true when you're painting on fabric!); so I left it to its own devices and called it good.
I made the ladies out of a vintage table cloth and painted their skin on cotton muslin.
Because this piece is so small, I stayed very true to the original sketch.
I've been working on a number of things concurrently the last little while; a couple of pieces for SAQA, a commission, and research for the next couple of commissions
Nineteen days after the start of a new year seems about right for a year in review, right? lol
Last week sometime, I was thinking that I really should do some blogging and fill you in on what I've been up to lately; when it occurred to me that I hadn't done my annual Year In Review.
If I were doing it just for you, I'd let it go, because you've moved on by now (!); but I do these for me as well - to track not only what I was up to, but to see if there are any themes or areas that are moving to the forefront; things I might want to explore further in the next year; and find out if there are techniques I need to work on if I want to continue working with it/them.
For newbies to my YIR posts, they're long and wordy. You may wish to skip to the last couple of paragraphs where I talk about what's coming for 2017. (I won't know myself until I get there, I never know what I'm thinking until I write it down!)
So, in no particular order, on to the pictures. :)

Over on Instagram, people are participating in "one year of stitches". You commit to working on a piece a little bit every day, sharing your progress every once in a while; and at the end of the year, you post your "big reveal".
I'll be posting my results here from time to time, too.
Talk soon,
Kit
P.S. Happy new year! May you all have joy and success in 2017. My words for this year are harmony, love and success. Peace to you all. :)
