What's up, buttercup?

So you may remember this supposedly finished piece that I called "June".

This weekend, I was working on that other piece I showed you last week, and this one literally fell on my head (off of a shelf where it had been precariously balanced).

At the time when I showed it to you, I said it was "pretty but baby"; and I still felt that way.  The tree trunk is beautiful (even if I do say so myself); but the problem is, the tree trunk looks like its on top of the leaves, rather than behind them because it's so dimensional.

I needed to build up the leaves.

So I hand painted on top of my already quilted quilt; adding depth and shading (I can see a difference, can you see a difference?  *heh*);

... and now I'm adding some leaves to bulk it up a little - hopefully without looking too much like "I just stuck some crap on my quit to make it look more interesting".

We'll see if I can achieve that balance!

And of course, concurrently, I'm working on wrecking my big flower as well.  lol

More on that later.
