Rescue Me (Part Two)

When we looked at this on Monday, there was a big fluffy, 5 year old tree on a painted sky background.  It was developing, but it still wasn't the vision I had in mind - too juvenile.

I realized that part of the problem was the fact that I had this big, rounded, popsicle tree.  the obvious solution was to cut the tree out of the background, re-shape it and start again on a different background.

Easier said than done, as I had a strong attachment to the background - the background being how the piece came into being in the first place!

But I sucked it up and began auditioning it on different backgrounds - hand dyed fabrics, commerical fabrics, hand painted fabrics,

(wait a minute - that looks familiar...)

and I also tried incorporating it into other failed pieces. As you can see - two wrongs don't make a right!

I mean wow. How badly does THAT one suck!  *heh*

Anyway - I've chosen a new background (I think) and now we'll all have to wait and see what happens next!

  2. Not juvenile at all! I love it! I'm a sucker for trees (no pun intended LOL). My favorite background FWIW is the second one... very wild!

  3. Me too. I like the green, yellow and blue one although I really loved that painted original background a lot. I like surprises so I'll wait to see.

  4. Doesn't look juvenile to me either. I LOVE that background fabric in the second photo! I can't wait to see what you decide to do next with it.
