Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Here in Ontario, we've had crazy snowstorms the last week - as much as 46 centimetres in one night, and it continues to snow!
Of course, when you have that much snow, you make snow angels, snow caves, snow forts, and snow men - or in my case, snow people!
Of course, mine were on a table runner - which I made so that I'd have something to show you today (because the owners of two of the commissions I'm working on have asked me not to publish).
However, our kitchen is white and a paler shade of that blue, so it'll be put to good use.
And how are you all doing in these last days before Christmas?

Love that quilting! Good you can make me enjoy snow scenes when it's 7 here in chicago!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And as for your temperature - I can beat that - minus 24 here today! *brrr!* Good thing we make quilts! ;)
ReplyDeleteCute snowpeople! Stay warm up there!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alexis! :) (Minus 24 here today. Brrr!)
ReplyDeleteBrrr! Just thinking of -24 makes me feel cold!! Love the snowmen fabric:) They can enjoy the snow while we stay warm indoors!!
ReplyDeleteI love these little snowmen too - I got a fat quarter of them as a gift a couple of years ago, so I'm glad I could finally put them to use! :)
ReplyDeleteIs this free motion machine quilting? What an intricate design. I love the moderness of the piece. I'm once was not a lover of blues or greens, but the quiltmaking has give me a love for all colors. This is just the right shade of blue or blue-green. It enhances the coolness I imagine you are trying to depict. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol,
ReplyDeleteI started out free motion, and then I realized, I'd be better off with a proper foot. So some of it free motion, but most of it with a foot. The next time I do this kind of quilting, I'll practice more before I actually do the piece - but that's what stuff for ourselves if for - practicing! ;)
Kit, you inspire me. I want to make a whole cloth quilt and I keep hesitating ( procrastinating) because my quilting via machine is not yet what it will be ( to put it positively). I realize I need to just practice, practice, more. I may make a string of table runners now. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteOh indeed, Dee!!! Really, seriously - just drop those feed dogs, put pedal to the metal, and go! ;) You only get better by doing - and sometimes that means you have not so cute results, but keep the faith - you'll get there!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! You do some amazing things!
ReplyDelete:) Thanks!
