More progress on the mysterious thing I was working on on Monday



If you spotted it in the left hand corner there, you're right.



After quilting it, it began to look like something recognizable, didn't it? Perhaps you've even figured out what else is around it (cuz you're sm'aat.) 



A couple of months ago, on my Coneflowers blog, I showed you some attempts at painting a sunset sky on fabric with craft paint.  This particular fabric (a poly silk) didn't take the paint as well as the cotton did, and most of it came off in the wash.  But the vestiges left behind looked like something very specific to me.

So I added some blue ribbon over the parts I thought looked like water....


And some white ribbon (folded, scrunched and tacked down by hand) to look like sea foam.

And I continued to happily buzz away, working on the piece, until:



Ruh-roh.  Houston - we have a problem.

Now I have to figure out a way to fix it.  :cranky sigh:
