Silver Eared Mesia

At various points, having made various birds, various people have said to me "this is my favourite one!"  Well guess what?

This is MY favourite one! I love the background, the way the tree branches look like the evergreen bark I remember; the needle-y foliage and my bird.  I love it, even if I do say so myself!

So, let's check out this bird, shall we?

I can't see the difference, can you see the difference?  What am I talking about? Why the feathers and bark bits!

Some are made from fabric, some from painted paper towels, and some from painted lutradur.  It all looks pretty much the same, doesn't it?  I'll give you a hint, though - in the feathers, the "smooth" looking pieces are the painted lutruadur, and in the bark, well, it's mostly made of painted paper towels.

So - one more week, one more bird! Getting down to the finish!

Hope you have a great weekend and a wonderful Easter or Pesach if you celebrate.

See you on Monday!

  16. I really like the bark effect on this.
Its as if there are spidery lines of lichen ( or shadow ) - the brown bits ?
And the mixed feather material does make a delightful textured look.....your getting very, very good at these lol
Its such a pleasure to watch how youve made them up, thanks for the peep, or tweet, show lol
