As mentioned on Wednesday, I was trying something new with this piece. I wanted to evoke an abstract representation of sunset on snow.
I did this by adding first acrylic white paint to my fabrics, and then rubbing oil pastels into the paint.
Ta da!
Nice! I am envious of the size of your bed plate!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant. What a lovely technique and stunningly effective.
ReplyDeleteI love this one, Kit.
ReplyDeleteA very successful piece.
ReplyDeletewow! that's one gorgeous sunset.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful piece of work. I like the light on the snow.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kit!
ReplyDeleteWonderful piece! Now you need to do one on the beach~I live in Florida, so no snow.
ReplyDelete......................and you succeeded nicely!
ReplyDeleteOf course I love it! But the thing that I really appreciated was the risk you took adding the big orange ball. The trees totally knocked it back while still keeping the "milder" impact of the wonderful orangey sun. Just lovely my friend!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing, love orange and love the orange sun.
ReplyDeleteI do like this one Kit, such a great looking piece of work.
