Guess what I'm working on this week?

If you guessed more of the Paperwork series, you'd be right!   See you on Wednesday with a finished piece!

The little rascals are complete - and unlike the Bobbsey Twins, these two are a little mouthy!

Both being democrats, they have a little something to say about the upcoming election in the USA.

(Isn't he clever!)

(She may have a point.)

On Monday, I'm back to ferns!  A year ago, I made a fern, and during the construction of it, I said I was going to make a bunch of them.

Well, don't you think it's time I made Fern#2?  I do!

P.S. Linking up with Thank Goodness It's Finished Friday through Missy Mac Creations. Come and join the fun!

Do any of you remember the Bobbsey Twins, or am I seriously dating myself?

As I was making these two, I couldn't help but be reminded of them - I really loved those books when I was a little girl...

and they made me desperately want a fraternal twin! (I didn't like Flossie and Fred much though, so I was glad to not have a younger set.)

I pretty much had a fraternal twin though, given one of my brothers is 9 months and 8 days older than I am.  (Don't freak out, we're adopted! lol) But we were pretty darn close...

Still, not a twin!

However, I guess these two are a post-modern version of Nan and Bert - given that they're a: Black, and b: have something very different to say than Nan and Bert might have!

Wanna know what they have to say?  Come back on Friday!

See you then...

This week I'm working on some little ones - a matched set - twins!

I started by painting a girl twin first - just with acrylic paint, straight onto a piece of cloth. I didn't prime the piece first or put any gesso on it. Another quilt artist who paints on fabric told me she doesn't gesso first so I thought I'd give it a shot.   It made the paint kind of crunchy once it dried, but she may use different acrylic paints (I use Golden acrylics).

And then I quilted her!

Stay tuned on Wednesday for the boy...
