Would you like to win this quilt? Of course you would!

If so, please go and see my friend Crystal at Sonnet of the Moon (click that link, you know you wanna!) and enter her giveaway.

I almost didn't want to tell you about it, because I sure hope I win! But you should go and have a look. And say hi! She's a lovely person with a lovely blog. You'll be glad to "meet" her.

  1. Haha...I got all confused for a second when I saw this in my blog reader. I was like "how did that get there?" :) Thanks for the link...you're such a generous lady. I hope you win! This is why I have an impartial third party do the drawings. It's so hard because I want everyone to win.

Oh, I was going to ask the other day but forgot...what made you change your mind about the 9-patch quilt along? It sounds like you have an idea on how to spice it up a bit so I can't wait to see what you decide to do.

  2. Ah yes - the nine patch. :) I decided to do it for two reasons. The first one is that I sometimes *gasp* get tired of what I'm working on, and I go away from the machine altogether - and the longer I'm away from a project, the more difficult it is to get motivated again, but then I feel guilty for not working on it so I don't work on anything else, which means I'm away even LONGER, and etc. I thought if I had something constant to do with no pressure, that would keep me coming back for more.

And the second reason is that I had this box full of approximatley 9 x 9 cotton handkerchiefs in blues and lavendars, sitting my stash for literally YEARS (I got them at Salvation Army for $1 for 20!) and have never been inspired to use them. I thought this nine patch quilt along would be a great way to use them up.

After I'm done the nine patch, I think I'm going to start on crazy quilt blocks using some of my crumb stash. Y'know? Something to keep me in the sewing room that I don't have to feel guilty about. :)

  3. That's a good plan! I know that cycle well (bored/frustrated, avoidance, guilt, avoidance, more guilt). I think a little "just for fun" project will be very nice to keep you sewing while letting you take a break from the big project.

I don't have any big projects going right now but I will soon and I might need to figure out a "just for fun" project to work on on the side. Maybe I should make more of those green/orange 9-patches. I found a green/orange plaid table cloth that will be perfect to use for a backing!

So, apparently I'm open for business again. :) Say hi if you like!
