I haven't had access to my sewing room for the past week, so I thought I would try some hand work, using a piece of my hand-dyed cloth.
Because I didn't have a quilting or embroidery hoop (since I don't actually embroider!), I first sewed the cloth and batting down to a piece of stretched and framed canvas, and then began my hand stitching.
I kinda suck at it - so there's been a lot of re-do-ing. *w*
But if it goes where I want it to, I'm gonna like it.

To me it looks very interesting ... and hey, even embroidery takes practice (how annoyed I was as a kid when somebody told me to practice ...)
ReplyDeleteI think you're doing a great job!
ReplyDeleteI like it! Especially the colors. You know, if you don't tell anyone, they won't notice the "mistakes" -- they become *design choices*. Shhhh...
ReplyDeleteI think you're doing a great job. I, too, am doing another piece in my Eric series all by hand but WITH a hoop since it's so big. I like the fabric and the stitching. Bet you'll love it when you're done.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, why can't you get into your sewing room?
