I was going to make a new one for the challenge because I thought they kept the piece if it was accepted, but they send it back. So, scratch *that* off the to-do list. But ...
Our group charitable project is to make journal covers for residents in a woman's shelter, and I thought I would use the opportunity to experiment with things on a small scale. I have, consequently, thus far ruined two journal covers - and not in an instructive, "we can all learn from this way"; but just silly.
Bad piecing on a crazy quilt-type cover that resulted in lumps I couldn't quilt out, and a terrible stencil job (I've been wanting to try stencilling to see what all the hype is about); but perhaps I shouldn't have tried it on the finished product. lol
So, all I have to show you is a little play I'd done with some of rusted fabric I'd made last month. I stalled out here though. After I've quilted the backgrounds, then what? Hand-embellishing I guess, but I can't think of what to do.
So they've been sitting on my mini-design wall for weeks.
Staring at me. Taunting me. :) Any ideas?
A little birdie told me it's your birthday today? Happy Birthday, Kit! Love following your blog! And those birdies you're showing today are so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIs it your birthday? Hope it is a great day for you. The birds are great. What about making a fabric book with them?
ReplyDeleteI'm stumped so I'm glad this is your project (smile) Can't wait to see how to resolve the piece. One thing that hit me was the birds tail to tail on the bottom. I think I'd switch them, but that's just me.//
humm...such sweet designs with style. good luck with finishing!
ReplyDeleteand...happy (belated) birthday?
