Continuing work on my latest bird - the "fabric' is the painted paper towel I showed you on Friday.
I'll just be showing you "bird business" over the next little while - I have to have the series done by the first week of April - and I have another due date the last week of May for another show and er, Im thinking of trying to slip something in for another call that's due in April.
Between all those - a really busy time at work (which is just going to get busier starting tomorrow) I'm feeling rather "under the gun".
Aiyee! :)
I'll post the draw results on Wednesday, along with more progress on the bird. 'Til then!
I don't know why, but as I was painting the blues yesterday morning and looking at my little sketch of my next bird, I kept thinking about good old Yardbird.
So last night while I was fusing and cutting, I put on some Charlie Parker and listened to him blow!
Here's a little video of him while he blows that horn... Enjoy!
And I'll see you on Monday. :)
I've been so busy at my day job that I've been behind on my "real" work! :)
But I got busy painting for some feathers for the bird (I'm not risking blue dye again!) this morning; as well as some blues for another project I've got in mind (super secret! lol)
Consequently, my studio currently looks like this:

Remember when I told you that I had an issue with a bird's colour bleeding all over my work?
I'm making it all over again.*
NOW do you understand why I had a minor flip out and threw it in the garbage? Approximately one billion french knots went to waste. (Augh!)
I'll be showing you the bird's progress on Wednesday. I'm going to have to make him "puffy" to stand up to all that texture. Should be ... "interesting".
* since there seems to be some misunderstanding - the pictures above are of the re-do. :)
