My friend Beth sent me a link to this video - an interview with Alice Kettle.

Her work is just.. wow. I'm gobsmacked, speechless, my world, as they say, is rocked.

Three times in a row I've watched it now, as well as looking at her image gallery on Google and her site (kindly provided by arlee barr) HERE.

Have a look - it'll be worth your time.

P.S. - and while I'm recommending - you should check out arlee barr, too. Her work is amazing!

Having gotten back to stitching, I've been adding more detail (all the pics are clickable today if you want to see things bigger); more of the seeded grasses, some mushrooms here and there, and that little squirrel (who I think I might need to be hand-stitched too.  Ruh-roh!)

And I might need to add a thread or two of a brown-ish yellow to the mushrooms to give them more dimension.

This little area is pretty near done, I think - except, somehow, I have to fit in a little yellow thread or floss somewhere on those vines... and maybe some seeded grass just to the top right of the fence post...

And, after hours and hours to remove "the dude selling Christmas trees" I STILL haven't figured out what to do to cover up the mess.

Okay, maybe I have more to do than I thought.

'Cuz maybe there needs to be some more mushrooms.  And a butterfly or two.  And a mouse! Don't you think there should be a mouse?  :)

Well, that's *my* weekend.  Hope yours is good one!

Got the thinkin' cap on  - this time focussing on a conversation I had with BSP on Friday night.
It all revolves around time.  Time is my enemy. It works against me, conspires to confound me; I am deeply aware and almost fearful of the passage of time.
As a result, I've spent years feeling resentful, and trying to curb that feeling of resentment. Almost since I made my first quilt five years ago, I have felt resentful of the time I spend away from my studio. There were so many quilts I  needed to make. I made nearly 30 quilts that first year – mostly queens and doubles, a few twins, a lot of laps and a couple of baby quilts.

People were shocked at the amount I was producing, but I was driven.
