After a fallow period artistically (pretty much the whole summer and early fall); my mojo is back! 

I've been holding a 3/panel piece in my mind for 7 or 8 months, but didn't know what I wanted to do for the background - I finally dreamt it last Wednesday night. On Thursday, I bought ten yards of cotton muslin and painted it all, and after a dry and a wash and another dry and hours of ironing, it's ready to begin. 

Oh, what a little stitching can do!

And in other news, I am finally getting around to taking my drawing 101 class. Right now, I'm working on dots and vertical lines.

It's Monday - and does it seem like we've been here before? 

Well, as you may have noticed on Friday, the last piece was called "Red Bench No. 1" so, here we are with the beginnings of No. 2.  There won't be more than that (at least not for awhile), because I don't have any more of that painted fabric on hand. 

However...

When I left you on Wednesday, I said I had just a few more touches, so after I'd added some snow and some little cardinals in the tree, I was all "Done!"  

But as it hung next to my design wall, I kept looking at it, and thinking it needed something. So I added one more thing.

These days I'm enjoying the mix - whether it be in interior design, music, or my art - I'm liking combining, seeing things work together, following natural progressions and letting my instincts guide me without worrying about some of the questions and things that took up a lot of real estate in my brain this summer (i.e. capital A "art", am I developing, where am I going, how do I get through this block, etc.)

And since I'm operating out of instinct, of course I'm making trees. Expect to see a lot of trees over the next little while. ;)
